Tributes and Dedications

Honoring the voices that shaped the journey.

Every book I write is rooted in truth—mine, yours, and the truths we’re often told to hide. This space is dedicated to the children who spoke up, the families who endured, the survivors who rose, and the advocates who never stopped fighting. It’s also for the quiet heroes: the teachers, counselors, social workers, and loved ones who held space when no one else would. Whether you’ve walked through grief, stood against injustice, or simply dared to hope—this page is for you. Thank you for being part of the story.

For Those Just Beginning

This page is dedicated to every soul standing at the edge of healing. To those grieving a loved one, mourning a marriage or relationship, rebuilding after job loss, or carrying the quiet weight of trauma. You are seen. You are not alone.
Healing doesn’t ask you to be ready. It only asks you to begin. Here, we honor your courage to take that first step raw, uncertain, and real. This is your space to rise, to remember, and to reclaim your story with dignity.

Good morning, RISERS!
I have worked tirelessly on the HonorMyRise website—building the coaching practice and continuing my education to ensure I have the skills and knowledge to truly serve those who seek support. Behind the scenes, there are countless essential and often tedious tasks that must be completed, all while I navigate my own personal challenges and remain committed to assisting others.
I have come a long way on this journey, but I could not have reached this point without the unwavering support of two incredible women: Benesha Mackey and Marla Daniel. Both of them share and strengthen my vision to uplift children, families, and the men and women who will benefit from HonorMyRise Grief & Trauma Coaching, as well as the New Horizon project. Below I have provide our mission statement.
Together, we rise.

HonorMyRise New Horizon Mission Statement
At HonorMyRise Grief & Trauma Coaching LLC, we create sacred spaces for healing, truth-telling, and legacy-building. Our mission is to provide trauma-informed support that honors each individual’s emotional journey, cultural identity, and capacity to rise.
Through creative coaching, narrative healing, and programs like Next Horizon, we serve returning citizens with dignity and clarity—offering accessible care while upholding firm boundaries around safety and accountability. We do not serve individuals convicted of sex offenses or malicious crimes against children.
We believe healing is a right, not a privilege. Our work is rooted in emotional resonance, legacy stewardship, and the unwavering belief that every person deserves a future beyond their past.
We rise together. We honor the truth. We build legacies that last.

Losing your mom is a pain that never fully goes away. And I’m not here to tell you to ‘get over it’, because you won’t. What you will do is learn to live with the love she left behind. That love becomes your strength on the days when the grief shows up uninvited. Keep going. She’s still with you… just in a different way.

Dedication
I give thanks to God for placing this vision on my heart and giving me the passion to pursue this business with purpose and integrity. I am grateful for the knowledge, strength, and dedication He continues to provide as I serve those in need. I thank Him for shaping me into a confidant and a listener and for blessing me with the patience, compassion, and understanding required to walk beside others on their journey. This work is His guidance in motion, and I honor Him in all that I do.

Being released after years of incarceration isn’t simple. It can bring anxiety, fear, and the shock of stepping into a world that kept moving while your life was on pause. The rules changed. Technology changed. People changed. And now you’re expected to adjust overnight. You don’t have to do it alone. Help is here. HonorMyRise is here.

A novel by Michelle Bardlett

Born minutes apart and once conjoined at the hip, identical twins Mason and Madison shared everything DNA, a devoted mother, and a childhood shaped by love and resilience. Their surgical separation was hailed as a miracle. But while Mason thrived, rising as a star athlete and academic standout, Madison was left to navigate life with a limp and a shadow he couldn’t escape.

Mocked by peers and overlooked by the world around him, Madison’s pain quietly deepened into something darker. As graduation night approaches, he sets a chilling plan in motion, one that will force everyone to reckon with the cost of being unseen.

Difficult Split is a haunting, heart-wrenching exploration of identity, sibling bonds, and the quiet ache of being left behind.
